Toddler Program
Ages 18 months - 2.5 in September
The toddler program holds a 1:6 ratio and a maximum of 10 students daily.
We are a developmental school and believe that young children learn best through play. Therefore, our toddler teacher will develop hands on learning activities that will be fun and engaging for your child! In the Toddler program your child will learn self-help skills including potty-training, feeding themselves, sitting during meal times, washing hands, and improving language skills. Your child will be exposed to their names, colors, shapes, and a variety of themes which explore the world they live in. We will also be working on expanding attention span, developing fine motor skills essential to holding a pencil and writing their names, as well as learning how to be a friend as the teachers emphasize appropriate social skills and how to show God’s love. You will receive a lesson plan weekly which will identify specific activities that your child will be doing in the class including math, science, language/literacy, bible time, art/crafts and Spanish/sign language words. If your child is enrolled in our toddler program, he or she will receive quality care from experienced, well trained teachers that will provide a safe and loving environment for your child to learn and grow.
Preschool Program
Age 2.5-5 years of age fully potty trained
The preschool classrooms hold a 1:12 ratio with a maximum of 15 students daily with an aide.
In the preschool program your child will be placed based on his or her birthdate by September first in one of our 5 classrooms. We strive to maintain a peer group which will help focus lesson plans specifically to meet your child's developmental needs. We have one transitional classroom which enrolls children from 2.5-3 years and may still be working on potty-training. We also have two preschool classrooms which enrolls children from 3-4 years, and 2 pre-k classes which enroll students 4-5 years of age. Each class will be working on all of your child's developmental areas, including math, science, language and literacy, dramatic play, fine motor, gross motor, critical thinking and social emotional skills. The teachers will assess each child to ensure that curriculum is expanded in the necessary areas. The children will attend chapel on Wednesdays and Thursdays weekly. To further communication you will receive a lesson plan each week outlining the specific activities planned for your child in class. Teacher's also use the BAND app in order to communicate with the class as a whole and parents individually. If your child is enrolled in one of our preschool classes he or she will experience a warm and safe environment to learn and grow!

Meet the director
Greetings! I am delighted to introduce myself as Ibtesam Guirguis, affectionately known to your children as Mrs. Sammy. With over 25 years of dedicated service in the field of early childhood education, including six years with the esteemed Capistrano Unified, I bring a wealth of experience and passion to my role. In 2017, I furthered my commitment to child development by earning a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, CA, complemented by a Program Director Permit.
My primary goal is to ensure the holistic well-being of your children, nurturing both their spiritual and educational growth. I prioritize hands-on learning experiences tailored to foster growth across essential domains: social-emotional development, language and literacy, and mathematics. Moreover, I aspire to cultivate a supportive community where students can explore biblical truths and deepen their understanding of Jesus.
At the heart of my teaching philosophy lies a dedication to meaningful play, which ignites curiosity and facilitates discovery. Through this approach, I have witnessed remarkable strides in problem-solving skills and the cultivation of positive self-esteem among children. Guided by this principle, I am committed to implementing a child-centered program that not only stimulates physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development but also nurtures a lifelong love for learning.

These are core values that dictate our beliefs, practices, and behavior. This is what the staff of Immanuel strives to do and what you can expect. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
WE BELIEVE:
- Children will grow closer to Jesus, by developing an understanding of the need for forgiveness and finding joy in the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
- Daily curriculum is infused with Christian values through prayers, devotions, Bible stories, and activities that offer many opportunities for early spiritual growth.
- Immanuel Lutheran Preschool provides a warm and loving Christ-centered environment where children can develop to their fullest potential physically, emotionally, socially, creatively, intellectually, and spiritually.
- Children learn best through play and when engaged in activities that challenge them at their level of development. Children always come first.
- The goal of Immanuel Lutheran Preschool is to work with each child’s natural development and to support the emerging self within.
- Immanuel Lutheran Preschool enhances the educational and developmental processes of each child and strives to strengthen parent’s skills and their desires to have a Christian faith-based family.
- Immanuel Lutheran Preschool is a joint ministry that involves the congregation, the elementary school, the staff, the family, and the child.
