"endure"
2024-2025

This Year's Theme...
Endure
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God."  (ESV)

School benefits

Small Classes

Personal instruction
With limited registration numbers and smaller class sizes, we are able to facilitate an environment where teachers effectively get to know students and their families which better serves their educational needs.

Weekly Chapel

Praise and Worship
Every Wednesday, and also Thursday for Preschool classes, we gather in the Sanctuary for a special message, scripture reading, singing and prayers.

Visual Arts Prgrams

Art Fair
All students, including Preschool classes, spend time creating and learning art techniques.  We celebrate them at the end-of-the-year Curriculum Showcase.

Performing Arts Programs

Music Class
All classes participate in high-level music lessons. Older grades begin to learn music theory by using musical instruments (recorders, chimes, and handbells).  During the year, classes sing and perform at special church services and Sunday worship.

PreSchool Options

We will work with your family to find the best class for your child.

PreK

The Pre-Kindergarten classes also incorporate Handwriting Without Tears, which follows a developmentally appropriate sequence in teaching your child how to write letters.  You will see what letter your child is working on each week in the lesson plans.  The teachers also follow Zoophonics for letter sounds and identification.   At the end of your child’s Pre-Kindergarten year, they will perform at the pre-k Promotion on the last day of school!  The goal of the Pre-Kindergarten class is to help your child develop all of the foundational skills necessary for your child to be successful in Kindergarten.  You will discuss your child’s progress during parent teacher conferences in January.

Toddler Program

The Toddler program enrolls students from 18 months to 30 months in September.   We do our best to maintain a peer group that can stay in the toddler class for the entire 9 month school year.  Each child will be moved up on an individual basis depending on space, development and recommendation of the teacher but cannot remain in the program once they turn 3.

Transitional Program

If a child moves into the preschool program and they are not fully potty-trained he or she will be placed in our transitional preschool classroom.  In this class some children are still potty-training and continue to pay toddler rates until your child is fully potty-trained.  There is only one transitional preschool classroom and your child MUST be fully potty-trained to move up into the next classroom by the next school year. The parents must be actively involved in potty-training at home in order to see the best results.  This classroom will follow the same structure and curriculum as the other classrooms. The only difference is that child can wear pull-ups (Not Diapers) until 100% potty-trained.

Extended Day

We offer Full and Half day Programs for all ages.

Elementary program

Welcome! Immanuel Lutheran School is located in the distinguished Victoria Neighborhood of Riverside, California.  Our school provides a safe, student-centered, Christ-filled learning and play environment. The following describe the unique enrichment programs offered.

Technology

We are thrilled to offer 70 minutes of computer instruction each week to all K-6 students to promote digital literacy. Our goal is to provide each student with a one-on-one device to utilize during the school day.  We follow a comprehensive technology plan which includes our students showing mastery in the Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals.

Music

Psalm 100 commands us to “Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord, all the Earth!”  Music is an essential part of worship and is an important part of a child’s education. Music classes are provided for all grades, K-6, every week. Each grade level has its own curriculum for music.

Physical Education

Our PE classes are designed to introduce or advance students' knowledge of health, fitness training and good  sportsmanship. We practice Christian behavior through team building activities. Our program is designed to teach age-appropriate skills and encourage lifelong health. Each child receives a minimum of 200 minutes per every 10 school days of PE.

Field Trips and Assemblies

Teachers organize engaging and educational field trips aligned with grade level curriculum.  Our Parent Teacher League (PTL) actively provides fun, educational and interesting programs to support our school and engage parents.

Before & After School Programs

Our quality Kids Kare program provides excellent supervised care before school, beginning at 7:00 am and after school until 6:00 pm. This fee-based program is offered to all currently enrolled students.
