Meditation: January 6th marks the beginning of the Feast of Epiphany, which focuses on Christ being revealed to the nations. The Gospel appointed for this day celebrates the first foreigners to come and worship the baby Jesus. They were Magi from the East, who were guided by the brightness of the Bethlehem Star. Let’s face it: we could use a little light in our world too. We face many dark days, and 2019 is marked with much uncertainty. Yet even in the midst of our own darkness, the Light of the World still shines. “Arise and Shine!” are the comforting words of the prophet. May the presence of Jesus be your hope and comfort throughout this new year!
