Director - Ms. Julie Pingel

Purpose

Immanuel established the School Age Care Program (Kids Kare) to provide a safe and secure Christian environment for our school students who need before and after school care. It is our goal to supplement the Christian training provided in the home and during the school day. We strive to help your child grow in all aspects of life (spiritual, physical, social, emotional and mental.)

Enrollment

Students attending Immanuel Lutheran Elementary School are eligible for enrollment.

Operation Hours

The morning program opens at 7 a.m. The afternoon program begins at 3:15 p.m. and closes at 6 p.m.

Procedures

Students who arrive on campus before 8 a.m. go directly to the Kids Kare room to be signed in. During the morning period, indoor games and quiet time activities occur. At 8 a.m., the children will go to the playground, where supervision is provided until they enter the classroom. After school, students who regularly use Kids Kare go directly to the room. Any students not picked up by 3:15 p.m. will go to the Kids Kare room. Afternoon activities include arts and crafts, organized games, free play, and time outside. A study period or quiet time is also offered. An authorized adult must sign all students out of Kids Kare each day. Please initial the record sheet.

Rules

School rules remain the same whenever a student is on campus. Please refer to the Student Handbook. Students are responsible for the proper care of equipment and are expected to replace any lost or damaged items.

Kids Kare fees are due 15 days after the bill has been sent. Payments that are not made by the 30th of the next month will be considered delinquent and are subject to a late payment fee of $15. If any payment is more than 30 days delinquent, the child will no longer be able to utilize the school age care program unless the parent or guardian has met with the day care administrator.

Kids Kare is billed on an hourly rate for each student, except on special days. Special day rates apply to special sign-up days. The rate for the 2020-2021 school year is $4.50 per hour.

Late Sign-Out Charge

Kids Kare closes at 6 p.m. We realize that occasionally something may occur that might cause a parent to be delayed in picking up your child. A $1/ per minute per child charge will be assessed for any time after 6 p.m. Out of consideration for the workers, please call the office or the Kids Kare line to let someone know you will be late whenever possible. The late charge will be added to your monthly Kids Kare bill.
